Orca Algorithm

Orca or sometimes called killer whale is a species of toothed aquatic mammal from the dolphin family which is the largest member of the dolphin group where these animals have black skin with white undersides and white patches near each eye. Orcas possess intelligent hunting techniques and unique vocal communication that are passed down from generation to generation. Orcas have three amazing hunting strategies, which are also used to show the incredible degree of variation between groups. Orca hunting has been biologically developed according to its prey, where these strategies are very creative and very intelligent. Orcas are apex predators, their hunting prowess is also supported by their size, strength, and speed to allow hunting safely and efficiently. Orca serves in Ray Plucking Strategy, Surfing Seals Strategy, and Wave Washing Strategy to show the amazing technique to complete the prey. Ray Plucking Strategy, Orcas have discovered that rays have a weird vulnerability while flipping over and entering a paralyzed state known as tonic immobilization, which needs coordination. The first orca will use its tail to gently remove the ray from concealment, and the second orca will arrive with a lethal bite to the head. Sometimes an orca may pin a ray to the seabed upside down, while another will use its teeth to rip the stinger out. Using the Surfing Seals Strategy, Orcas swim near the coast, waiting for the proper alignment of the tides, seals, and shore to strike. When the time is right, the orca rides a wave onto the beach, takes a seal pup in its jaws, then twists its body and pulls it back to deeper water with another wave. Orcas jointly swam behind the beaching orca on each side in another technique, most likely to prevent prey from fleeing in both directions. The Wave Washing Strategy, possibly the most spectacular strategy for hunting seals on ice floes in Antarctica, begins with a group of five to seven orcas working together to chip away at the borders of the floating ice, restricting the seal’s refuge and making escape harder. Furthermore, to increase the chances of being captured, the group often moves the ice into the open sea, away from other ice floes or debris. The group dives beneath the ice at the last possible moment to create a wave that will tip the floe. When orcas engage in this behavior, they are typically heard vocalizing at a higher frequency. It’s been proposed that these vocalizations are used to help the group coordinate during the attack. If the initial effort fails, the seal is washed into the water and this behavior is repeated. The hunting activity, in particular, is an exciting aspect of this approach since it may be used for training, social learning, or even teaching younger group members how to hunt effectively. On April 8th 2022, these intelligent behavior has been arrested for Orca Algorithm where the hunting strategy and prey capture process considered in the hierarchy. Orca Algorithm is created as artificial intelligence based on the technical procedures for known a natural adoption in associated with the selecting and speeding stages. Moreover, the speeding phase is used to search for a movement that will lead to the desired outcome. The selection stage is utilized to find the optimum target to catch the targeted prey. Orca Algorithm is also characterized by Orca number, Wave factor, Prey number, and Hunting cycle.
